Your windows 7 come with Windows 7 hidden International Wall Papers. When you first install windows 7, it asks you for the time, currency and language. according to your responses the OS installs a set of wallpapers and themes based on your Geo location.
Most choices are usually English (US) for the time and currency format. This choice will give you wallpapers of locations such as Maine and other states in the United States.
The thing many do not know is that there are many other wallpapers from different countries. English speaking countries such as Australia, Great Britain, Canada and others have their own hidden wall papers.
How to enable Hidden international wall papers?
Now, your question will be, to get other wallpaper do I need to re-install windows? The answer is NO. Other wallpapers can be accessed from the drive where you installed your Windows 7 OS. Below are some steps which will guide you through the process to get these hidden International Wall Papers.
Click on start, run in the run box and type C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT (Change the drive letter if you have installed it on any other drive)
Windows Explorer will show you a list of folders under MCT, it will be like MCT-AU, MCT-CA, MCT-GB etc. (AU stands for Australia, GB for Great Britain and CA for Canada, US for United States and ZA for south Africa).
Choose the country you want. The themes should appear and go to its theme folder. For example, for Great Britain the path will be C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT\MCT-GB\Theme
Double click the theme you see there and it will be installed. Next time you go change your themes. You will see a shortcut of the chosen theme in the personalization section of control panel.
If you do not see the run when you click on start, you have to right click on start menu. Click customization and enable the run button.
